Our Journey

1993

Integrated Institute for the Disabled (IID) was founded on 15 th March 1993 by Dr. R. A. Joseph.
1994
Hostel Care Program for children with disabilities was started on 9th June 1994 with an orphan girl with disability who was named as Raj Lakshmi.
1995
First Parents Training Workshop of parents of children with disabilities was conducted from 20th – 25th November 1995.
1996

Conducted 1st assessment and awareness camp for persons with disabilities on 14th July 1996.

2000
A book Path Pradarshak was written and published in November 2000 to provide literature for the parents of persons with disabilities.
2001

Conducted a research project sponsored by SIEMAT, Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh & Established 1st branch of IID at Jaunpur District on 03-12-2001 and second branch at Chandauli District on 07-12-2001 & Honored with Kashi Seva Ratna Award by Akhil Bhartiya Patrakar Kalyan Samiti, on the occasion of World Disabled Day, 2001.

2002

Started 1st batch of DSE (ID), B. Ed. Spl. Ed. (DE), Foundation Course Spl. Ed. (DE) and Care Givers program during the year 2002 & Honored with Viklang Seva Ratna Award by Lion’s Club, Varanasi on 8th December, 2002.

2003
Conducted 1st batch of Master Trainers Program of National Trust from 12th December 2002 to 12th January 2003. Conducted 1st Orientation & Sensitization Program of Village Pradhans on disability issues on 14th February 2003. Honored with National Award by then President of India Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam on 3rd December 2003 for outstanding contribution in the field of disability rehabilitation.
2004

Conducted 1st State Level Workshop “Summit of Mind” at Varanasi from 29th to 30th January 2004 & Conducted 1st State Level Workshop for Media Persons on disability issues at Lucknow on 19th March 2004. Publishing 1st issue of Share & Care Bi-lingual (Hind-English) Magazine in the field of disability rehabilitation with RNI No. UPBIL/2000/948 from July- September 2004 & Honored with TOYI (Ten Outstanding Young Indian) Award from the National Jaycees in the year 2004.

2005

Started 1st batch training of DHLS course recognized by RCI on 4th July 2005 & Honored with Indira Gandhi Rajbhasha Award from Minister of Home Affairs, Govt. of India on 14th September 2005 for the book Punarvas Ke Aayam

2006

Started 1st batch training of DECSE (ID) course recognized by RCI on 17th July 2006 & Honored with Life Time Education Achievement Award- 2006 from Health & Education Development Association, New Delhi.

2007

Started 1st batch training of DVR (ID) course recognized by RCI on 2nd July 2007 & Honored with National Education Award for the Book Punarvas Ke Aayam from Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India in 2007.

2008
Started 1st batch training of D.Ed. Spl. Ed. (HI) course recognized by RCI on 5th July 2008. Started 1st batch training of D.Ed. Spl. Ed. (ASD) course recognized by RCI on 12th July 2008.
2009
Honored with Rajiv Gandhi Gyan Vigyan Award from the President of India on 14th September, 2009 for the book Vishesh Shiksha Avam Punarvas.
2010
Started 1st batch training of Post Graduate Professional Diploma & Post Graduate Professional Course as study center of IGNOU in August 2010.
2014
Honored with Rajbhasha Gaurav Puraskar from then President of India Sri Pranab Mukharjee on 14th September, 2014 for the book Nihshaktata Par Samvaidhanik Pahal.
2018

Started 1st batch of RCI recognized Advance Certificate Course of Inclusive Education from 16th January 2018 & Started 1st batch training of D.Ed. Spl. Ed. (VI) course recognized by RCI on 17th September 2018.

2019
Celebrated Silver Jubilee Year of the Organization on 15th March 2019.
