ACHIEVEMENTS
The Integrated Institute for the Disabled has worked to serve 59,249 persons with various disabilities through its different programs held at the head office in Varanasi and its two associate branches. The available programs include, Special OPD, Early Intervention Services, Special/Integrated School, Hostel Care Program, Aspiration- Day Care Centre, Vocational Training & Employment, Community Based Rehabilitation Program, Assessment and Distribution Camps etc. The details of achievements of the Institute within the last 31 years are as follows:
At IID, Varanasi
- Served 10,033 persons with various disabilities in Special OPD services in the last 31 years.
- Served 781 children with developmental delay under early intervention services in the last 14 years.
- Served 26,507 persons with disabilities by organizing 69 camps in different districts of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
- Served 2,395 persons with intellectual disability, cerebral palsy, autism, hearing impairment, visual impairment and multiple disabilities through Special School (Day Care) program in the last 31 years.
- Served 660 persons with disabilities through a Hostel Care Program during the past 30 years, of which 8 children are orphans.
- Served 743 persons with various disabilities through the Vocational Training Center of the Institute.
- Employed 41 persons with various disabilities in self-supported and shelter based employment.
- Served 2,392 persons with various disabilities in a Community Based Rehabilitation program during the past 22 years of its services.
- Served 149 cases with disabilities under Samarth Scheme till the year 2018-19.
- Served 40 students with disabilities by providing secondary level education through NIOS Board.
At Rachana, Jaunpur (Branch)
- Served 3,819 persons with various disabilities under Special OPD services in the last 16 years.
- Served 381 children with developmental delay in an early intervention program during the last 15 years.
- Served 743 students with intellectual disability, cerebral palsy, hearing impairment, autism, visual impairment and multiple disabilities through a Special School program in the last 22 years.
- Served 1,424 persons with various disabilities under a Community Based Rehabilitation program in the last 21 years.
- Served 1,734 persons with various disabilities through a number of health and rehabilitation camps in the last 14 years.
- Served 41 children with disabilities under Aspiration Day Care Center Scheme of the National Trust in two years’ period.
- Employed 24 persons with various disabilities in self/self-supported employment.
At Samman, Chandauli (Branch)
- Served 3,568 persons with various disabilities under Special OPD services in the last 15 years.
- Served 219 children with developmental delay through early intervention programs during the last 15 years.
- Served 595 persons with intellectual disability, cerebral palsy, hearing impairment, autism, visual impairment and multiple disabilities through a Special School program in the last 22 years.
- Served 776 persons with disabilities under the Community Based Rehabilitation program in the last 21 years.
- Served 2,153 persons with various disabilities through various health and rehabilitation camps in the last 14 years.
- Employed 10 persons with various disabilities in self/self-supported employment.
AWARDS AND HONORS
Received awards & honors from various government and non-government organizations for contribution to empower people with disabilities, which inspire us to continue providing quality services to help them for their bright future.
2001 – Honored with Kashi Seva Ratna Award by Akhil Bhartiya Patrakar Kalyan Samiti, on the occasion of World Disabled Day, 2001.

2002 – Honored with Viklang Seva Ratna Award by Lion’s Club, Varanasi on 8th December, 2002.

2003 – National Award by then President of India Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam on 3rd December 2003 for outstanding contribution in the field of disability.

2004 – Honored with TOYI (Ten Outstanding Young Indian) Award from the National Jaycees in the year 2004.

2005 – Indira Gandhi Rajbhasha Award from Minister of Home Affairs, Govt. of India on 14th September 2005 for the book Punarvas Ke Aayam.

2009 – Rajiv Gandhi Gyan Vigyan Award from the President of India on 14th September, 2009 for the book Vishesh Shiksha Avam Punarvas.

2014 – Rajbhasha Gaurav Puraskar from the President of India Sri Pranab Mukharjee on 14th September, 2014 for the book Nishaktata Par Samvaidhanik Pahal.
